Here I have compiled a list of my most frequently asked questions. If you have a question you don't see here, please feel free to ask!
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state. Each person enters a form of hypnosis naturally multiple times through out the day…It is just the depth of trance that differs… Ever driven some where and not remembered driving??
What does hypnosis feel like?
I like to describe hypnosis as that wonderful feeling of when you’re just about to fall asleep, but rather than falling into sleep you could at any moment get up and walk around.
How does hypnosis work?
Your hypnotherapist will use relaxation techniques the facilitates a relaxed state of mind, during this state your hypnotherapist will communicate with your subconscious and using positive suggestions and instructions to allow you to make the changes you wish to see.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Generally yes. There are some exceptions to those that can be hypnotised. These can include people with serious mental health issues or those with very low levels of concentration. Hypnosis has to be something that you want.
Is hypnosis just like being asleep?
Absolutely not.. It’s a relaxed state. There is no benefit to delivering a therapy that the client is asleep for… You are relaxed during hypnosis yet alert.
Can the hypnotherapist make you do things against your will?
Nope! No magic wands here. At no point during your hypnosis am I ‘in control’ of you. No barking like a dog or clucking like a chicken in our sessions!
Does hypnosis force you to reveal your deepest secrets?
Again, nope! Any information disclosed is done so willingly
After hypnosis you don’t remember anything
Hypnosis is not a memory wiper. There may be parts that you don’t remember fully as you are so relaxed.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends totally on what you would like hypnotherapy for. Some issues can take just one session, other issues require more time.
What is the success rate?
Hypnotherapy has a very high success rate. It is person centred but as with all therapies, the client is the heart of it all. You are the one making the changes, your therapist facilitates this. You are the key to your success.
